Modify the default template to include the placeholder and run the same harvest twice. By default there is no dedup - check the processors report. Change to deduplication "true" in the HarvestJobManager settings and restart it. Rerun the harvest - now there should be deduplication. Finally change the default config to include the placeholder.

I'm not sure if this is just a problem in the test description for TEST2 but setting

<harvester>
      <harvesting>
        <deduplication>
          <enabled>false</enabled>
        </deduplication>

for the HarvestJobManager (which is the default) does not prevent the job requesting a deduplication index.
