 Description

The current MoinMoin based released documentation is very cumbersome to work with and a switch to using Confluence would have several benefits:

  • The current procedure for creation the documentation for a new release is quite time consuming and error prone. In a Confluence setup this would be a simple space copy.
  • Confluence spaces are a nice concept for limiting scope, eg. only search for documentation in a single version.
  • Separat context for the different versions, thus avoiding the need to manually maintain version information in page names.
  • Automatic copying of attachments.

See the Confluence documentation for an example of such a versioned documentation setup.
