      1. Go to the Extended Fields menu (Menu->Extendedfield)
      2. Create an extended Field under domains, e.g "Owner" (you can also create field for harvestdefinitions, but you can not use them yet, because there is no implementation). You can also create more than one field.
      3. Go to (Menu->create Domain) and create a domain (for example test.com) and after creation of that domain you should see the new edit fields under the standard fields of a domain.
      4. Enter some values in these edit fields and save the domain.
      5. If you go to Menu->find domain and load the test.com domain, you should see all values, which you entered before.

    Description

NAS started as tool for scheduling and monitoring of crawls. Nowadays more and more metadata will be stored within NAS and due to the requirements of the four using libraries the type of needed metadata is different. Creation of extended Fields can be a solution for this need. In a new Setup-UI the user can define additional fields for Domains, Harvest Definitions, et cetera (also for new Entities in future), which can be used when creating, or updating single entities. At the ONB for example there is sometimes the need of knowing the federal state of the holder of a domain. That means for every domain there must be the possibibliy to select a federal state. At KB or BNF this field may not make sense. I can solve this when I create a extended field in the ONB production system. Other libraries may create other fields.
